Mitchell heads east

And so farewell Peter Mitchell, erstwhile 3rd XI defender, as he departs to start a new life in Norfolk. Rumours that he has run out of companies to milk are denied, although he admits that the list of FTSE100 companies he has 'helped' reads like a casualty list of British industry. Mitchell (remarkably one of three former senior prefects in the club ... prizes for guessing the other two) made living dangerously a part of his game and his remarkable tendency to keep hold of the ball almost too long, to out stare umpires and to send smaller (well, that's almost all of them) opponents crashing to the ground ("they should get it the bloody way") will be missed. For fans of embarrassing pictures of Mitchell which have become such a popular part of this site, fret not - there are plenty more to keep coming in the months ahead.

Tony Blake gets hitched

And also congratulations to Tony Blake on getting married on November 2. Tony, who first played for the OCHC in 1972, hasn't made an appearance this season since moving to Bexhill-on-Sea but is threatening a post-Christmas game or two.
