Helen Merry raises £1600 in Barcelona Marathon

Congratulations to Helen Merry for completing the Barcelona Marathon and in raising £1600 for Help For Heroes in the process.

Clearly it was a hard slog for Helen, who finished in a time of 4hrs 28mins.

“Got back this afternoon and currently can't walk so am in bed,” she said. “Incredibly painful. My splits went rapidly downhill ... they're all on the marathon website. My first 10k felt OK and then it just got harder and harder to maintain the pace.”

Next on the marathon trail is Nick Lewis who explained, while drinking a pint, he was in training for next month’s London Marathon and was aiming for a time under three hours.
