We are pleased to report that Adam McIlroy is on the mend after his stomach-turning injury against Sanderstead.
"Just to let you know I am OK," he grimaced. "Nine stitches in my left eyebrow and a mild concussion. It doesn't really hurt too much though and probably could have been a lot worse."
As a warning to anyone planning an injury, he has a salutary lesson regarding Saturday in any A&E department. "I spent six hours in the Mayday hospital with the biggest bunch of chavs I have ever seen including some bloke in a wheelchair that they had to put outside the building in the freezing cold because he stank so much, an Asian knife wielding gang (average age 14) and two idiots - one with a broken hand who did it after his mate pushed him over when he was having a piss in the corner of the beer garden. I have nothing but admiration for the poor nurses.
"I felt fairly safe though, there were four security guards hanging around at all times. I finally got home at 11.00pm."
We wish Adam well and point out that he has been fined for leaving the game without paying his match fee.
